Violence sees clubs told to play behind closed doors

Two top junior football teams have been ordered to play all future clashes behind closed doors after their last meeting ended in chaos and violence.

Strathclyde Police have banned Ayrshire rivals Kilbirnie Ladeside and Beith Juniors from playing in front of paying fans after a local derby match earlier this month turned violent.

The shame game was the culmination of four years of trouble between rival supporters and police now say the local derby needs more policing than an SPL encounter.
