THESE nuns on the run certainly got into the jogging habit as the build up for the Morrison's Great Women's 10k gathers apace.

Behind the whimples were Sister Act stars taking time out of rehearsals ahead of their stage show at the city's King's Theatre next month.

Cast members including Emma Ochia, who plays the lead role of Deloris, Melanie Taylor, Clare Ryan, Eilidh Murdoch and Lesley Cotton all got into the spirit of things wearing habits and trainers in a sunny Bellahouston Park.

The Morrisons Great Women's 10K on May 17 will see thousands of ladies take to the streets of the South Side in the biggest female running event in the UK.

The route will see them run through both Pollok Park and Bellahouston Park before finishing at Mosspark Boulevard.

Andy Mitchelmore, who is organising the event for the Great Run company, said: "We welcome ladies of all ages and abilities to join us at the Morrisons Great Women's 10k in Glasgow. The atmosphere on the day is fantastic and seeing thousands of women crossing the finish line together is very empowering.

"Previous participants over the years have included everything from runaway brides to hen parties - a group of nuns is definitely a first and I am looking forward to cheering them on."

Registration for the run is currently open so there's time for many more women to join the nuns.

Sister Act runs at The King's Theatre next Tuesday until Saturday, April 18.
