LEADERS in modern office furniture have opened their first Scottish HQ in Glasgow after winning millions of pounds worth of contracts north of the border.
Steelcase Solutions has launched a flagship office in West Regent Street at a time when firms across Scotland are investing in hi tech workplace interiors for staff.
The new headquarters follows a cash-rich year for Steelcase officials who are believed to have secured more than £4m of business from major companies including BP at Grangemouth, Exxon Mobil and Chevron at Aberdeen, HSBC, Hilton Worldwide and ScottishPower in Glasgow.
Lawrence Morison, managing director of Steelcase Solutions UK, which provides furniture for a range of settings from call centres to small offices, said: "The fact we are now seeing more companies investing heavily in their real estate adds weight to the evidence that confidence is returning to the business community in Scotland.
"While we are realistic about progress and the economic climate remains tough, there is reason for optimism and we as a company want to be part of that.
"We have enjoyed substantial and rapid growth in the last three years in Scotland and this has given us an excellent platform to establish new flagship premises."
