HOLYROOD's Presiding Officer is to undergo surgery this week to remove an obstruction from her bowel.
Tricia Marwick is not expected to return before the summer recess and her duties will be carried out by the Deputy Presiding Officers John Scott MSP and Elaine Smith MSP.
