Glasgow MSP Anne McTaggart is driving forward a bill for an opt-out transplant system on the back of the Evening Times' Opt for Life campaign.
It means that individuals would be required to opt-out if they do not wish to donate organs posthumously.
Wales will make the change on December 1.
