A FOOTBALL club is urging fans to join the organ donor register.
Partick Thistle FC will be encouraging supporters to sign up during the team's Scottish Cup clash against Dunfermline at Firhill this weekend, where staff from the Scottish Government's organ donor road-show will be on hand to answer questions.
Around 600 people in Scotland are currently waiting for a transplant.
Partick Thistle captain Alan Archibald said: "It's amazing to think that saying the seven words 'I'd like to be an organ donor' could save up to seven lives.
"I hope all fans take a minute to think about organdonation and signing-up to the NHS Organ Donor Register."
The Evening Times is campaigning for an opt-out system for donation.
