PETER Pan made a flying visit to see youngsters at Yorkhill Sick Kids' Hospital.

Stars of the King's Theatre made the special visit to spread panto magic and festive cheer.

Peter Pan and Wendy, played by Scott Fletcher and Joanne McGuinness, were joined by Starkey the Pirate and Tinker Bell, played by Des Clarke and Francesca Papagno.

The cast have been raising money for Yorkhill Children's Charity with bucket collections at selected shows and as part of the King's 50 years of panto celebrations, exclusive tickets were released with 40% of sales donated to the charity.

Capital FM presenter Des Clarke, starring in the King's panto for the third consecutive year, said: "One of the perks of performing in panto is visiting Yorkhill where we' re able to have a chat with the kids, show them our colourful costumes and wish them a happy Christmas.

"The King's Theatre is a strong supporter of Yorkhill Children's Charity and thanks to our generous audiences for digging deep we've once again been able to raise money to support the hospital's vital services."

Kirsten Sinclair, Head of Fundraising at Yorkhill Children's Charity, said: "The King's Theatre and the cast of the panto have given us such wonderful support over the past few weeks.

"The money that they have raised for our Give the Gift of Hope Christmas Appeal will help us care for some of the tiniest, sickest premature babies in Scotland. We're also delighted that the cast will visit the patients at Yorkhill. "Christmas is a difficult time to be in hospital, and they will certainly bring smiles and laughter to the wards."
