RUNNERS in training for the Women's 10K endured an unusual refreshment break in Bellahouston Park.
Members of A Company, 4th Battalion Parachute Regiment, gave women preparing to take part in the event on Sunday May 11 a right royal soaking.
On race day, the troops will don their military kit to support the thousands of women competing in the Bupa Great Women's 10k.
Warrant Officer Class 2 Davy McLellan said the regiment was really looking forward to being part of the event
He said: "Many of us have wives, friends and female relatives taking part so it will be great to be out on the course cheering them, and the thousands of other women, on as they pound the pavements."
"As a team we took part in the Bank of Scotland Great Scottish Run last year so we know what a brilliant feeling of achievement the ladies will experience when they cross that finish line."
