SUPPORTERS of the SNP are gathering in Glasgow's George Square.

They are celebrating at the City Centre meeting point to mark the party's huge landslide in Scotland.

They scooped 56 of Scotland's 59 seats.

A Facebook page called SNP Celebration George Square was set up on Friday and dozens of people said they were attending.

Sean Marwood Fitzpatrick, who created the event, said: "Invite your friends and celebrate this momentous occasion, Glasgow voted SNP!"

George Square was a gathering space for supporters of independence in the run-up to last year's referendum.

It was even dubbed 'Freedom Square' by some Scots.
