Commuters reported seeing smoke after a train broke down in the subway.
The inner circle train is understood to have broken down at the city centre stop, sparking delays for around half an hour.
Passengers reported seeing smoke while others smelled burning following the breakdown.
An SPT spokeswoman said: " We want to get the train moving to clear the station, it's at Cowcaddens at the minute.
"We're tying to get things moving on that side. The outer circle is working in full though.
"We are working to get that side cleared in order to run more through the systems.
"It was in the station itself when it broke down, nobody had to walk through the tunnel."
One passenger travelling from Kelvinbridge to Cowcaddens said: "When I got off at Cowcaddens I could smell burning.
"I got on the train and there was announcement saying the trains wouldn't be stopping at St Enoch or Buchanan street."
Full service is expected to resume in the next 15 minutes as engineers work to get the train moving.
