EVENING Times photographer Martin Shields runs his expert eye over pictures of Glasgow's parks.

Alongside the team at Glasgow Science Festival, he judged the Dear Green Places – Glasgow's 'parklife' competition – to find the best photographs depicting how people use the city's parks.

Snappers of all ages sent in pictures of people and animals enjoying life in parks, as well as scenic shots of the green spaces.

Now all the entries will be showcased at an exhibition as part of the Glasgow, Naturally family weekend at Kelvingrove Museum and Art Gallery, this weekend.

The winning entry, and four highly commended pictures, will be revealed at a special ceremony at the event.

All the entries will be put into an online photo album.

Martin said: "There was a very diverse range of photos.

"I was impressed by the variety of the entries and especially liked some of the black and white shots."

Dr Deborah McNeill, director of Glasgow Science Festival, said: "It was such a high level of entries."
