A PLAY park will be investigated for potential contamination.
Environmental health officers at West Dunbartonshire Council have identified a play park in St Helena Crescent, Hardgate, as a site that could be contaminated.
The council does not hold detailed records of the history of the land, but there is information to suggest a refuse heap may have been located in that area.
Exploratory works, which will include taking soil samples from various depths, will take place.
The park will remain open until early January when, due to the equipment required for deeper excavations, access will be restricted for up to three days.
The works will identify the composition of underlying soils which are currently capped within a grass layer.
