A footballer has appeared in court charged with raping a woman in Glasgow's Merchant City.
Daly McSorley, who played for Stirling Albion, is alleged to have sexually assaulted the 24-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, on June 8 at Brunswick Street, Glasgow.
McSorley, from Hamilton, South Lanarkshire appeared from custody at Glasgow Sheriff Court yesterday.
The 22-year-old, represented by defence lawyer Matthew Berlow, made no plea or declaration and was remanded in custody.
He will appear for a full committal hearing next week.
