A MAHUNT is underway to find a convict who has gone on the run.

Police want to trace Andre Thomson after he disappeared four days ago.

The 32-year-old, who was last seen in the Gallowgate area, was required to report to police.

However, he failed to do so and police have launched a probe to trace him.

Mr Thomson is described as white, 6ft tall and of slim build, with short black hair, brown eyes and a fair complexion.

When last seen, he was wearing dark coloured jeans, a grey zipper top with fawn coloured cuff, and dark trainers.

Police said Mr Thomson has mental health issues, for which he is overdue medication.

Speaking today, Detective Inspector Graeme McLachlan said "Mr Thomson does not have a permanent address and was due to stay at hostel accommodation.

"However he did not remain there, and did not register an alternative address.

"Officers have been making enquiries to trace him in areas he is known to frequent.

"It is now suspected that he may have travelled to the Blackpool area.

"Mr Thomson should not to be approached and the police should be contacted immediately."

Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to contact police on 101.
