DETECTIVES are hunting two armed robbers who threatened a mother in her own home.

Police said the 40-year-old woman was at home in Ellon Grove, Paisley, with her two sons and a nephew when two men burst in.

The pair threatened the family with a weapon and demanded money.

One suspect was wearing a black top with a 'police' logo on the sleeve.

Police said a four figure sum of cash was handed over but remained tight-lipped about the exact amount.

The men escaped in an unknown direction after the raid at 8pm on Tuesday.

The suspects are described as white males, 5ft 8in, of muscular build.

The first man had a round face and short blonde hair. His accent was described as local.

The second man is described as bald, and wearing dark clothing, including the black top with a 'police' logo.

Detective Inspector Sandy Nelson said: "No one in the house was hurt as a result of this incident. However, everyone involved has been left in a state of shock.

"I would ask for anyone who may have been in the Renfrew Road and Gallowhill area of Paisley, who thinks they have relevant information, to contact police on 101."
