A girl was left terrified after being attacked on her way to school.
The 14-year-old was walking to class in Paisley, at around 8.30am yesterday, when a youth pounced on her.
She was walking along a cycle path, near to the Maxwellton high-rise flats, in the west end of the town.
The schoolgirl is understood to have facial injuries and was taken to nearby Royal Alexandra Hospital.
She was treated for minor injuries.
The suspect, believed to be in his 20s, was last seen running towards Lounsdale Road.
He was wearing a black rain jacket and blue jeans.
Officers believe residents of the high-rise flats may have witnessed the attack.
