POLICE are investigating a firearms incident in Greenock.
Officers were called to the town's Poplar Street on Sunday at 12.50pm following a report of gun being discharged.
A large number of police units attended, including armed officers.
Poplar Street and nearby streets have been sealed off since then.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: "At about 12.50pm today Police Scotland received a report of a firearm having been discharged in Poplar Street, Greenock.
"There have been no reports of any injuries. The incident is ongoing."
