POLICE are continuing to look into the deaths of a couple whose bodies were found at their home on Christmas Day.

A post-mortem examination has confirmed that Jan Tshabalala, 33, died from hanging but the cause of death of his 30-year-old wife, Julia, is still being investigated.

Emergency services were called to the house in Groomsland Drive, Billingshurst, West Sussex, just after 9am on Thursday following concerns for the couple's welfare.

Mr and Mrs Tshabalala's two children, aged four and six, were not believed to have been at home when their parents died, and are currently being cared for by relatives, a Sussex Police spokesman said.

Detective Chief Inspector Paul Rymarz, from the Surrey and Sussex Major Crime Team, said: "This is a tragic case and our thoughts are very much with the family at this time.

"We are not looking for anyone else in connection with the deaths but would welcome information from anyone who may have had contact with either person in the days before their deaths which may help to shed light on this case."
