POLICE have confirmed a body found in the River Clyde is that of missing man Gary Murphy.

The 25-year-old, from East Kilbride, had been missing for almost a month.

He was last seen on a night out in Glasgow's Ingram Street, in the Merchant City, at around 11pm on Sunday March 23.

Police said his body was recoverd from the river at Broomielaw last week.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "The body of a man was recovered from the River Clyde at Broomielaw around 10am on Wednesday April 16.

"Although DNA tests have still to be concluded, family members have identified him as missing man Gary Murphy."
