DETECTIVES have stepped up an attempted murder probe after a man was deliberately hit by a car.
Police are carrying out extensive inquiries and trawling through CCTV images after the 47-year-old man was struck last Friday at around 1pm.
As reported in later editions of last night's Evening Times, the victim was involved in a fight with three men who were in a car in Royston Road, in the north of Glasgow.
The driver of the white Ford Focus estate then deliberately drove into the victim.
A police spokeswoman said: "We are continuing inquiries."
