A GLASGOW footbridge has been closed off after it was deemed "potentially unsafe".
Polmadie Bridge was shut after council engineers carried out a regular inspection.
They found that the concrete beams in the middle of the bridge were in poor condition.
Glasgow City Council said the closure was a precaution to allow engineers to see what work needs to be done.
The bridge, which crosses the River Clyde, was built in 1954 and is frequently used by pedestrians and cyclists.
The council said on Twitter: "Polmadie footbridge has been closed as a precaution after regular inspection found it is potentially unsafe for pedestrians and cyclists."
