A STUDENT has died after falling from a window during a party.
The victim, who has been named locally as Ben McLean, is believed to be from Barrhead, in East Renfrewshire.
The 22-year-old was a medical student at Edinburgh University.
Police were called to an address in West Preston Street, Edinburgh, on Friday at 9am after a man's body was found in a garden.
It is understood he had been at a party at the property the night before and fell from the window.
In a separate incident at the same party, a 19-year-old man was due to appear in court on Monday in connection with alleged drugs offences.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: "Officers from Police Scotland in Edinburgh have charged a 19-year-old man with drugs supply offences following the discovery of a body on Friday morning (16 January) in a rear garden at West Preston Street, Edinburgh.
"The man is expected to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Monday January 19 2015."
