A GLASGOW street was closed after low-hanging power cable sparked an alert.
Police were called yesterday afternoon and cordoned off a section of Westmoreland Street in Govanhill.
Motorists faced disruption as the road was closed between Allison Street and Dixon Avenue.
It is thought strong winds brought down the cable.
The road re-opened shortly after 4pm yesterday.
