A NETWORK set up to care for people with dementia has been praised for its work.
East Dunbartonshire Council and its partners in East Dunbartonshire Dementia Network have earned praise in the Scottish Parliament for the work they are doing in the community with people diagnosed with the condition.
Dementia has been described as the biggest health and care problem of a generation and the number of people diagnosed with the condition in East Dunbartonshire is rising.
Councillor Michael O'Donnell, convener of the Social Work Committee, said: "In East Dunbartonshire we have worked very hard to ensure that the range of health, social work, housing, third sector and voluntary agencies work together to meet the expectations of people with dementia and their families."
