TWO sheltered housing developments in Glasgow's East End have impressed high ranking officials from the Care Inspectorate, it was revealed today.

The complexes in Calton and Bridgeton were each awarded five points out of a maximum of six in quality of care and support, quality of staffing, and quality of management and leadership.

Both developments are owned by Thenue Housing. Chief executive Charlie Turner said he was "delighted with the result".

Thenue has 67 Calton tenants in sheltered accommodation in Tureen Street and another 61 in Bridgeton's McKeith Street.

The Care Inspectorate said: "We saw many good examples of how the service focuses on the needs of individual tenants."
