THE family of a man who died after being struck by three cars on a motorway paid tribute to him.
Three cars ploughed into 28-year-old Paul McDermott on the M73 motorway in North Lanarkshire early on Saturday morning.
In a statement, his family said: "Paul was a much loved son and brother and will be sorely missed by all the family."
Police said he was walking on the southbound carriageway when he was struck by an Audi A3, a Vauxhall Vectra and a Volkswagen Scirocco.
It happened shortly after 5am and Mr McDermott, from Clydebank, died at the scene.
Emergency services raced to the motorway junction near Gartcosh.
Detectives said inquiries were at an early stage and that anyone with information on the accident is asked to contact them on 101.
