INVESTIGATIONS are continuing today after a body was found in a loch at a popular family park.
The grim discovery was made by a dog walker who saw the pensioner's body floating in the water at James Hamilton Heritage Park in East Kilbride.
Emergency services responded to the incident with police, and ambulance crews on the scene.
Police later confirmed the body of had been removed from the loch and that a probe was under way.
It is not known how long the body was in the water or how the man got there. Witnesses said emergency services descended on the scene shortly after 8am yesterday and a recovery operation was launched.
A post mortem examination will be carried out to establish the exact cause of death.
