AN INVESTIGATION is underway into a house fire in Glasgow which left a woman with serious burns.

The cause of the fire, in Louden Hill Road, is being investigated by police and firefighters, following the blaze on Friday night.

Three fire crews, from Cowcaddens and Stepps, were sent to the scene shortly after 6.30pm.

The woman was rescued by firefighters, suffering severe smoke inhalation and serious burns. She was given first aid at the scene by the crews before being handed over to paramedics and taken to hospital.

A fire service spokesman said the Fire Investigation team visited the scene on Friday and Saturday and are working with Police Scotland into establishing the cause of the fire.
