The estranged husband of radio DJ Suzie McGuire is to be assessed by a psychiatrist as he awaits trial over claims he repeatedly attacked her while they were together.
Derek Mitchell is said to have throttled DJ Suzie and bit her on the face in a Christmas Eve assault.
He denies carrying out a five-year catalogue of physical and mental abuse against the former Radio Clyde Drive Time host between 2009 and 2013.
Mitchell, an accountant, was due to go on trial at Paisley Sheriff Court this week but the case was adjourned yesterday after it emerged he was due to see a psychiatrist tomorrow.
