COMMENTS from the chairman of the Wetherspoons pub chain that costs should not rise in an independent Scotland have been welcomed by Finance Secretary John Swinney.
Tim Martin said there was no reason why Scotland would not be successful or for pub prices to rise.
Mr Swinney said: "Tim Martin's comments confirm the strong business confidence in Scotland and showing the desperate Tory-inspired scaremongering of the No campaign is not working.
"The fact is, Scotland is a very attractive place to do business."
