POLICE officers and the public will be questioned by MSPs about whether or not policing in Scotland has improved since the new national force was established last year.
Members of Holyrood's Justice Sub-Committee on Policing will visit communities across Scotland to take evidence.
Labour MSP Graeme Pearson, the former director general of the Scottish Crime and Drug Enforcement Agency, and Tory Margaret Mitchell will visit Dumfries today.
