MUSIC fans are urged to vote for their favourite Scottish album ahead of a prestigious awards ceremony.

The public vote for the Scottish Album of The Year awards will be open for 72 hours, until Wednesday May 27.

Now in its fourth year, the awards celebrate the best in home-grown music, with Edinburgh trio Young Fathers claiming the top gong last year.

Music fanatics will be able to vote online for their favourite among 20 long-list nominees including Idlewild, Mogwai, King Creosote and Errors.

The final 10 shortlisted albums will be announced at a ceremony on Thursday May 28, before the final winner is revealed on June 17.
