PUPILS from St Paul's High School scooped first prize at this year's Glasgow Schools Public Speaking Competition.
The Pollok school saw off competition from Fernhill School, Craigholme School and Shawlands Academy.
Organised by the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service, the competition challenged pupils to discuss the topic: "Freedom of speech is more than a right to say whatever you want".
Solicitor General Lesley Thomson QC, said: "I am delighted that following the success of last year's competition this has now become an annual event.
"St Paul's may have been the winners on the night but all the pupils and teachers and can be proud of their school's achievements."
Pupils debated in front of an audience at the Scottish Prosecution College in Gorbals Street, Glasgow last week.
