BIG-HEARTED staff at Hamilton Park Racecourse have set about trying to raise enough money to fund a cancer care nurse in Lanarkshire.
The racecourse's 19 full-time staff want to raise £19,000 to help pay for a Marie Curie Cancer Care nurse for a year and have enlisted the help of Clyde 2 DJ Gina McKie.
Fundraising efforts are already under way and the next nine months will be full of initiatives, each carefully constructed by a member of the Hamilton Park team.
One of the main fundraising events this season is a high-end raffle which will kick start on the opening fixture in May.
The campaign was sparked by Hamilton Park chief executive Vivien Kyles, after she was appointed to the Marie Curie Cancer Care's Glasgow development board last year.
To launch the 2014 campaign she was joined by Gina, who is supporting a Fashion Dash event on Sunday, June 1.
Gina said: "The enthusiasm of the team at Hamilton Park is infectious and I am delighted to be a part of such a worthwhile project."
