THIEVES stole £50,000 in cash and jewellery in a raid on a house in the south of Scotland.
The property in Dumfries was targeted over the weekend, say police.
Around £40,000 of jewellery and £10,000 in cash was stolen in the robbery.
The collection of jewellery included diamonds, opals, gold and silver pieces, a Police Scotland spokesman said.
Anyone who witnessed the robbery or who has seen the jewellery should contact them on 101, or anonymously by calling crime Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
