RAIL passengers are facing disruption after a person was hit by a train.
The incident happened between Glasgow Central and Paisley Gilmour Street.
Disruption is expected between the two stations until 5pm on Friday.
It will also impact services between Central station and Ardrossan Harbour as well as Johnstone.
Scotrail said replacement road transport had been requested between Johnstone and Glasgow Central.
They advised customers to consider other transport until alternatives could be confirmed.
A British Transport Police spokesman said: "Our officers were called to the line at Paisley Gilmour Street station shortly after 2pm on Friday, 13 February, following reports a person had been struck by a train.
"Colleagues from Police Scotland and Scottish Ambulance Service also attended, but a woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
"Officers are trying to identify the woman, whose death doesn’t appear to be suspicious, and inform her family. A full report will be submitted to the local Procurator Fiscal."
