Jason Graham, 23, of Bilsland Drive, Glasgow, threatened to kill the 61-year-old when she tried to scream for help.

The High Court in Glasgow heard how Graham forced his way into the woman's home after asking her for a cigarette.

When Graham left the bedroom the woman tried to escape, but was dragged back and repeatedly kicked by Graham.

Judge Lord Turnbull told him: "You have pleaded guilty to very violent attack perpetrated with extreme depravity against a mature woman in what should have been the safety of her own home."
