SCOTS adventurer Niall Iain Macdonald showed off the purpose-built hi-tech boat he will use to row across the Atlantic.
The 39-year-old visited Glasgow before he sets off on an attempt to row 3400 miles from New York to Stornoway.
He is hoping to raise £100,000 for the Scottish Association for Mental Health (SAMH) charity by completing the epic journey in around 90 days.
Only 10 people have successfully rowed from the West to East across the North Atlantic - more people have walked on the Moon - and no one has ever tried to reach the Isle of Lewis from the Big Apple.
Niall Iain, who aims to use his own experience of depression to get people to talk more openly about mental health, said: "I am both excited and nervous to undertake the biggest challenge of my life to help raise funds for SAMH to continue their work."
