ARCTIC Convoy veterans from both Russia and the UK were honoured at a reception in Scotland.
The event is part of a week long programme, across the UK for a number of Russian Arctic Convoy veterans.
It follows on from 29 British Arctic Convoy veterans visiting St Petersburg in August to mark the anniversary of the first ever Arctic Convoy.
Scotland Office Minister David Mundell said: "This has been a year of historic milestones - 70 years since the D-Day landings and 100 years since the start of World War One for example.
"As we pass these moments in time one constant remains, Scotland's unwavering support for our Armed Forces.
"To the UK and Russian Arctic Convoy Veterans who attend our reception today we are proud to say thank you for all you did during World War II for our country, for our freedom and for our safety."
