Scots ‘no longer openly hostile to Tories’

David Mundell, the new Under Secretary of State for Scotland, yesterday became the first Conservative minister in 14 years to visit Glasgow on Government business and claimed the city is no longer “openly hostile” to the Tories.

Mundell, who is his party’s sole MP north of the border, claimed during a tour of Labour heartlands in the east end of Glasgow that the city needed a voice at the UK’s “top table” .
