AYRSHIRE rock band Biffy Clyro will join legendary rock guitarist Slash for an intimate gig in front of Glasgow fans ahead of MTV's European Music Awards.

The show at the O2 Academy will take place next Friday.

The gig, which stars former Guns 'n' Roses frontman Slash featuring Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators, will be filmed for MTV and shown in more than 160 countries.

Just two days later on Sunday, November 9 the glittering awards at the SSE Hydro will be broadcast live to MTV channels internationally from 9pm.

Tickets will only be available to Slash and Biffy fans tomorrow from TicketWeb.

Members of Team Biffy and Slash's mailing list will receive an e-mail with a priority code and full details of how to book. Tickets cost £10 plus booking fee. No tickets will go on general sale.

The gig is part of MTV Music Week, which sees artists ­including La Roux, Chvrches and DJ Trevor Nelson, entertain at venues across the city in the lead up to the big event.

Slash, whose real name is Saul Hudson, said: "Can't wait to bring the rock back to MTV and World Stage in Glasgow."

Enrique Iglesias, Calvin Harris, Charli XCX, Kiesza, Royal Blood, Ariana Grande, Ed Sheeran and Nicki Minaj have been previously confirmed to star at the 2014 MTV EMAs.

British rock legend Ozzy Osbourne will also be honoured with the Global Icon Award and will be in Glasgow to accept his award.
