Speaking to the Glasgow Times, Sara Gray, manager of LUX Nightclub, said: "It's really sad, the town is gutted, and we are too.

"We're the only nightclub in a small town, and we just haven't been able to bounce back since the pandemic.

"It's not that we haven't had anyone through the doors or that we haven't adapted, it's just that now it's a luxury for people to go out.

"It is no longer a pint after work, it is saving up money to go out and into town.

"We've adapted, we've dropped our prices and door entry fees but it's just no longer feasible."
