A former Prime Minister did bible readings at a Glasgow church to mark a very important milestone.

Gordon Brown and his brother John visited Govan and Linthouse Parish Church on Sunday to deliver readings to the congregation.

It comes as part of the church's 'Year of Celebration' marking 150 years of its life and work.

Brown was among the guests at the celebratory service which was held before a lunch attended by members of the congregation and other invited guests.

The former PM has a special connection to Govan and Linthouse Parish Church as his father Reverend John Brown was their minister.

The Year of Celebration has held many events throughout the year to celebrate the milestone, including an art installation by Heidi and Peter Gardner.
