Part of the M8 near a busy Glasgow hospital will close every night for 12 days.

Amey is carrying out essential bridge expansion joint replacements on the motorway near junction 15 Castle Street overbridge. 

The work will take place just 100 metres north of Glasgow Royal Infirmary from Monday, February 12 until Friday, February 23 between 8pm and 6am each night.

As well as the overnight closures, signed diversions will be in place. 

Traffic wishing to travel westbound on the A804 should continue until North Hanover Street, bear left onto North Hanover Street, turn left onto Cathedral St and follow permanent signage.  

Traffic wishing to travel eastbound on the A804 should continue along Royston Road, turn left onto A803, south on A803 to Castle Street and follow permanent signage.  

Traffic wishing to travel westbound onto Alexandra Parade should continue on Castle Street, turn right onto A803, take the slip to A804/Bair Street and follow permanent signage.  

Traffic wishing to travel eastbound on Alexandra Parade should continue on Alexandra Parade, turn left onto Alexandra Park Street, take the first exit at the roundabout to Blochairn Road, turn left onto Royston Road and follow permanent signage.  

Traffic wishing to travel westbound on the M8 should continue on the M8 to Junction 16, turn right at the lights, turn right at the next lights back on to the M8 eastbound, leave the M8 eastbound at Junction 15 and follow the diversion for A804 eastbound traffic. 

Emergency service vehicles will be able to access the area throughout the works.
