POLICE were "everywhere" near a Glasgow park after a "violent" incident on Sunday.

Emergency crews were seen at Hartlaw Crescent in the city's Cardonald.

Reports on social media claimed there had been a violent attack near the playground. 

Officers confirmed they had been called to a report of an assault in the area.

A 31-year-old man was rushed to hospital to be treated for laceration wounds.

An investigation into the attack is underway and anyone who may be able to provide information is urged to come forward. 

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 6.30pm on April 7, we were called to a report of a 31-year-old man seriously assaulted on Hartlaw Crescent, Cardonald.

“He was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment.

“Enquiries are ongoing and anyone with information that may assist our investigation should contact 101 quoting reference 2797 of April 7.”

A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We received a call at 18:36 on April 7, 2024 to attend an incident on Hartlaw Crescent, Glasgow.

"An ambulance was dispatched to the scene and one patient was transported to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.”
