A Glasgow restaurant which announced its shock closure after seven years has teased a "new venture".

Doner Haus on West Nile Street in the city centre took to social media to reveal that "something very exciting" will be filling the venue soon.

It comes after we reported the restaurant announced its closure last week.

The eatery shut its doors to punters on Sunday, April 14.

In the post teasing its new venture, the German restaurant thanked its customers for an "amazing send-off", while saying "when one door closes another one opens".

It is yet to reveal what the new venture is.

Announcing the news, Doner Haus said: "Our doors close tonight (Sunday, April 14) for the last time, thanks for the amazing send-off and for the past seven years.

"As the saying goes, when one door closes another one opens.

"The team are excited for a new venture and something very exciting will be filling the space soon.

"Remember you can still get your favourite Berlin kebabs from Doner Shack in Silverburn. Same meats, breads and sauces."

Following the restaurant revealing its closure last week, customers were left gutted by the news.

One said: "Will miss it."

Another chimed: "Can't believe this is closing."

Meanwhile, a third added: "No way, gutted to hear this. So sad."
