A NEW Turkish-inspired restaurant is set to open in Glasgow next month.

RUMI will open its doors on Hope Street in the city centre.

Named after the renowned 13th century Persian poet and mystic, the new eatery aims to "evoke the essence of Turkish culture and cuisine".

It will also aim to offer guests a diverse array of authentic Turkish dishes from kebabs and seafood to a selection of desserts.

The creator of RUMI, Zafer, moved to the city in 2007.

He said: "We are thrilled to introduce RUMI to the vibrant food scene of Glasgow.

"Our mission is to offer a truly authentic Turkish dining experience, where guests can savour the flavours of Turkey while immersing themselves in the rich tapestry of Turkish culture."

An official opening date for the new venue is yet to be revealed.
