A person has been taken to hospital following the closure of a railway line earlier today.

We previously reported that a line was closed in both directions as emergency services attended an incident at Hyndland Station in the West End of the city.

Now, British Transport Police (BTP) have said that officers received reports of a casualty on the tracks at around 4.23pm.

They confirmed that paramedics attended and a person was taken to hospital.

Their condition is unknown, but BTP said the incident is not being treated as suspicious.

A spokesperson said: "Officers were called to Hyndland railway station at 4.23pm today (April 22) to reports of a casualty on the tracks.

"Paramedics also attended and a person was taken to hospital.

"The incident is not being treated as suspicious."

Police Scotland were also contacted for comment.
