Cops are hunting for a group of thugs after a teen was attacked on a busy Glasgow street.

The incident took place on Sauchiehall Street near its junction with Hope Street at around 2.30am on Sunday, May 5.

During the ordeal, a 17-year-old boy was approached by a group of men and women - aged around 18 to 20 years old.

The youngster was then assaulted.

Following that, he was treated at Glasgow Royal Infirmary and later released.

Now, cops have launched a search for the culprits.

The suspects, two of whom were men, bolted off in the direction of Buchanan Street.

Officers say they were all white and spoke with local accents.

One of the men was around 6ft tall and was wearing a Nike tracksuit.

The other man was wearing a grey jacket with a white Palm Angels t-shirt.

Detective Constable Matthew McCann said: “We are appealing to any members of the public who were in the area at the time of the incident who can help with our ongoing enquiries.

“If you saw what happened, know those involved or where they went, then please get in touch.”

A spokesperson for Police Scotland added: "Anyone who can assist is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 0481 of Sunday, May 5, 2024, or make a call anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
