DETECTIVES searching for Georgia cordoned off a woodland beauty spot as her friend was questioned on suspicion of murder.

The body of 17-year-old Georgia – who has been missing since Sunday – has still not been found, despite the arrest of a 22-year-old man, named as Jamie Reynolds, over her murder.

Officers were yesterday searching a small area next to the pond at Brown Moss nature reserve near Whitchurch, in Shropshire, but they refused to say whether the activity was in connection with the disappearance of Georgia.

A police tent was erected at the nature reserve, around 17 miles from Wellington, and uniformed officers were seen searching areas of woodland.

The 22-year-old man, who is from Wellington, had originally been arrested at a hotel in Glasgow.

He was later returned to Telford, re-arrested on suspicion of murder and is now being questioned.

Superintendent Nav Malik, Telford and Wrekin Police Commander, said: "I make it very clear that we have not found Georgia Williams.

"I urge the public to support us in trying to find out where she may be."

He also revealed more than 50 detectives are working on the investigation.

A West Mercia Police spokesman said: "Police can confirm that officers investigating the disappearance of Georgia Williams are examining a number of locations."

A semi-detached house in Avondale Road, Wellington – where neighbours said a Jamie Reynolds lived with his parents – was being searched by forensics officers.
